Haslett - East Lansing - Downtown Lansing

From Haslett:
1.. From Marsh Road, you will need to decide if you prefer to take Raby Road or Haslett Road.
1.a. Turn right onto Raby Road. (Raby Road is more scenic, with more trees, and less traffic.
It is also unpaved from Okemos Road to Park Lake, which could be difficult for a bicycle with
narrow tires, or if it is muddy out. Also, to get from Marsh Road to Raby Road, you will need
to go behind the Village Square shopping center on the corner of Raby and Marsh. Behind
the shopping center you'll find a connection onto Raby Road, which can be difficult to
maneuver unless you have a mountain-type bicycle with wider tires. Finally, the crossing from
Raby Road onto Park Lake Road does not have a light, and it is a busy intersection. We are
only recommending you take the Raby Road route if you have a mountain bike, can
maneuver the connection from the shopping center onto Raby Road, and are comfortable
crossing at a busy intersection.)
1. b. Turn right onto Haslett Road. Haslett Road is a somewhat busier road, and not as
scenic as Raby. The benefits are that you can turn directly from Marsh Road onto Haslett
Road, (with no extra maneuvers), and it is paved all the way to Park Lake, with a widened
sidewalk that you can ride on. Finally, turning onto Park Lake Road from Haslett Road will be
easier because it is a less busy intersection. This route is recommended for beginners or
anyone who is less interested in a mountain-bike-adventure-type commute.
2. From EITHER Raby Road or Haslett Road, turn left onto Park Lake, take south to Burcham.
3. Turn right onto Burcham, take west to Abbott.
4. Turn left onto Abbott.
5. To continue into campus or to downtown Lansing, take Abbott to Circle Drive West.
6. Follow the curve, jog left onto Circle Drive East, and then quickly turn right to get onto Kalamazoo
St.

Clippert to Grand). Take Kalamazoo west, all the way to Washington Ave.
