Compete in the Smart Commute '08 Challenge to win cool prizes
and receive special awards!
The Smart Commute '08 Challenge will take place May 19-30, 2008
Each day of the challenge week, companies report how many people
smart commuted to work. Smart Commute modes that will receive
credit include:
- Telecommuting/ working from home.
- Bicycling.
- Walking.
- Carpooling.
- Riding the bus.
- Any other mode of transportation besides single-occupant vehicle.
Companies whose employees make the greatest smart commuting efforts throughout the
week will win special prizes and awards, to be presented during the week of June 2.
This year's prizes include green bikes from MSU Bikes, company bagel parties, tote bags,
and more!
How winners are determined: You can compete in one of the team size categories listed
below, which would be the total number of employees in your company, or department, or
division, or unit.
Your team captain will be the person who registers your group, and they will receive a tally
sheet and poster sign-in sheet.
Smart Commuters sign in on the poster, or with the team captain, each day that they Smart
Commute. Team captains divide the number of Smart Commuters by total employees. Each
day team captains will send in the results to Smart Commute '08.
Winners will be those groups that have the highest cumulative percentage of Smart
Commuters (out of total employees in the company, department, division, unit) for the
week.
Participating individuals names' will be drawn to win prizes.
The competition categories are:
- Mini (2-5 employees)
- Small (6-24 employees)
- Medium (25-50 employees)
- Large (50+ employees)
