Please join Mid-MEAC for our May Land Use Lunch on Friday, May 4, 2012 where we talk about new and emerging issues use. Please join us in welcoming Mark Wyckoff, Senior Associate Director of the Land Policy Institute at Michigan State University and Director of the Planning & Zoning Center. Mark's presentation will briefly touch on Smart Growth, School Siting from the municipal and school district perspectives, demographic considerations, Safe Routes to School, context sensitive design and the impact of Complete Streets as it relates to school siting policy.
Mark is a professor at MSU, a community planner with 37 years of experience including 24 years in the private sector as a consultant. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Certified Planners and serves as the Editor and Publisher of the Michigan publication,
Planning & Zoning News.
This month''s Land Use Lunch will be held at the Michigan Municipal League's Training Room (208 N. Capitol Avenue) in Downtown Lansing and features a light buffet lunch for $5. We encourage you to walk, bike or use public transit to get to Land Use Lunch!
